ST. LOUIS—EyeCare Partners LLC, a leading network of full-scope medical optometry and ophthalmology practices, has added to its position in the ophthalmology health sector with the recent acquisition of Corrective Eye Center,  a leading northeast Ohio private ophthalmology practice. Corrective Eye is led by its founder Dr. Samuel Salamon and Dr. Greg Louis, along with two associate physicians across three locations and a surgery center in the Cleveland area, according to an announcement. The practice was founded in 1985.

The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Chicago-based Physician Growth Partners (PGP) acted as advisor to Corrective Eye Center and announced the acquisition late last month.

This strategic acquisition creates an entry point for EyeCare Partners to begin providing ophthalmic care across the greater Cleveland market, the announcement noted. EyeCare Partners is a portfolio company of the investment firms Partners Group.

Corrective Eye is an independent, private practice that is limited to ophthalmology, and specializes in cataract surgery and glaucoma treatment, according to its website. The practice also noted that it “works with all Greater Cleveland optometrists,” which allows patients to return to their OD for continuing care.

EyeCare Partners currently offers comprehensive medical eyecare services across approximately 500 sites of service throughout Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

It recently announced the acquisition of six eyecare practices around the nation that it completed during the second quarter, as VMAIL reported.
