GARDEN CITY, N.Y.—OCLI, a Spectrum Vision Partners (SVP) managed practice organization, has added the EyeCare 20/20 practice of New Jersey to its group. The northern New Jersey practice becomes the first in New Jersey within the OCLI ophthalmology group, according to the announcement earlier this week. Founded in 1997, OCLI oversees a leading group of ophthalmology practices in the Northeast, with 21 state-of-the-art medical facilities across Manhattan, Nassau and Suffolk counties in New York.

As part of OCLI, Drs. Cary Silverman, Nicholas Xanthos and Allison Gunzburg, will continue to see patients at their current practice location in East Hanover, N.J.

“As innovators in our field, joining the OCLI team was a natural fit,” Cary Silverman, MD, said in the announcement. “As the first New Jersey practice to partner with OCLI, we look forward to growing OCLI further in New Jersey and enhancing our patients’ experience.”

Over the past decades, EyeCare 2020 has built a respected practice, serving patients from East Hanover, Parsippany and throughout New Jersey with thousands of LASIK and laser cataract surgeries.

SVP supports the growth, administration and management of some of the leading ophthalmology practices and eye ambulatory surgery centers in the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut tri-state area. In addition to OCLI, managed practices include Island Eye Surgicenter, Ophthalmic Consultants of Connecticut (OCC), New Vision Cataract Center, Long Island Eye Care, Eye Institute of New York, Glaucoma Associates of Long Island, Precision Eye Care and Huntington Eye Care.

In mid-2018, Spectrum Vision Partners received a “substantial equity investment” from the investment firms GoldPoint Partners LLC, GCM Grosvenor and Hamilton Lane, as VMAIL reported. The new investors co-invested alongside Blue Sea Capital, SVP’s existing lead private equity partner at the time.

In its first year of business, SVP grew from 400 employees to a current total of nearly 800. The organization recently relocated to new corporate service center in order to provide improved customer service.

Tom Burke, chief executive officer of Spectrum Vision Partners, commented, “This partnership not only marks OCLI's first entry into New Jersey, but also represents a first opportunity for Spectrum Vision Management to work with world-class eye health surgeons and specialists in that state. Dr. Silverman and his team of doctors and surgeons will be a welcome and respected addition to the growing roster of OCLI.”
