ORLANDO—The American Academy of Optometry has announced that registration is open for the Academy 2020 Nashville meeting in Nashville, Tenn. The meeting, which will be held at the Music City Center, is scheduled to run over the four-day period, Oct. 7-10. Early-bird registration runs from May 6 through Aug. 6. To register, visit the Academy meeting page here. “We continue to be hopeful that we have successfully flattened the curve and our lives can begin to get back to ‘normal’ slowly and safely,” AAO noted in its announcement about the opening of registration. “While this might change, the Academy continues the planning for our annual meeting – this includes measures to keep everyone safe while still being able to learn, network and engage with each other and our incredible industry partners.”

Academy 2020 Nashville will feature more than 400 hours of continuing education (CE) on a variety of topics, which will allow attendees to participate in up to 34 hours of CE all at one meeting. Highlights include top of the line education in a variety of formats, an expansive exhibit hall, scientific papers and posters, and memorable social events.

In addition, AAO noted that it recognizes these are unprecedented times. Due to this uncertainty around the coronavirus pandemic, anyone who registers and encounters health or travel concerns can request the Academy to waive all cancellation fees if they decide not to attend. The requests should be submitted in writing.
