SAN DIEGO—CovalentCareers, a career development company for new health care professionals and the largest provider of new graduate eyecare professional career resources, is hosting its inaugural Virtual Career Fair, with free registration for optometry students and optometrists. The career fair will be held on April 21 and 22, 2020. Full hours and a tentative events schedule can be found on the 2020 Virtual Career Fair website here. The Virtual Career Fair will feature a virtual Exhibit Hall, with booths from private practice and corporate optometry employers.

Attendees will be able to live chat with employers, search nearly 1,000 open optometry positions, and receive one-on-one resume and career advice from CovalentCareers hiring experts, according to Matt Geller, OD, CEO of CovalentCareers. He added, "Dozens of private practices and employers will be attending the career fair along with the premier headline partners, National Vision and MyEyeDr."

“We’ve always offered free career resources for ODs,” noted Geller. “An interactive event was the natural next step, and is even more valuable in the current environment when there’s so much change and uncertainty for graduating optometry students and those seeking employment. We felt it was important to do something to support the eyecare community during this time.”

In addition to networking opportunities, the Virtual Career Fair will feature 20 live education sessions covering topics such as interviewing tips, financial and credentialing guidance, non-clinical careers, and more. There will also be raffles and giveaways throughout the two days of the fair.

Registration is free at the event website here.
