CALGARY, Alberta—FYidoctors, a leading optometrist-owned eyecare company, has announced that Cousineau Eye Centre has joined the FYidoctors brand. The addition of the Cousineau Eye Centre marks the first FYidoctors location in Fort Frances, Ontario, and the northwestern Ontario region, according to an announcement Monday. Dr. Thomas Cousineau, who received his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 1987, established the Cousineau Eye Centre more than 30 years ago. The clinic offers a complete range of family eyecare services with a major emphasis in ocular health. The Cousineau Eye Centre also specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye syndrome using a variety of screening and treatment options.

“Any instance where we’re able to reach new consumers and deliver on our mission to enhancing the lives of Canadians, is one which we celebrate,” FYidoctors chairman and chief executive officer Dr. Alan Ulsifer said in the announcement. “We’re thrilled to have Dr. Thomas Cousineau and his experienced team join the FYi family. We look forward to serving the people of Fort Frances and the Rainy River District with the same caliber of experience they’ve come to know – just now with a more robust product offering and increased services.”

Based here in Calgary, FYidoctors is a privately held, optometrist-owned-and-operated company with more than 500 optometrists, 250 locations and 2,700 employees.

Dr. Cousineau said his practice is “extremely proud to be partnering with FYidoctors.”

He added, “Joining forces with FYidoctors brings tremendous value to our patients by enhancing our ability to deliver leading edge products, services and technologies. FYidoctors also offers valuable industry resources and support systems which will serve to strengthen the level of care and service we provide.”

Cousineau Eye Centre has implemented a new examination process with enhanced safety procedures, in addition to extensive cleaning of all equipment and touch points throughout the clinic, the announcement noted.
