SAN ANTONIO, Texas—The Brien Holden Vision Institute, has launched the new online myopia resource platform Global Myopia Centre, according to an announcement from the organization. The Institute said the Centre will bring its resources in myopia research, practitioner training, and global advocacy to educate and equip eyecare professionals in managing myopia. The Institute has developed a number of online tools specifically to help practitioners including the Myopia Calculator and Guidelines for Myopia Management, which will be available free from the Centre.

“The Global Myopia Centre is bringing together the most critical knowledge and resources to the one platform to assist busy ECPs in better understanding all the new information available to them,” said Yvette Waddell, CEO of the Brien Holden Vision Institute. Waddell said, “In response to participant feedback, we are launching the new feature, Complex Cases, come November. We also plan on launching the course The Business of Myopia, which will focus on adapting an optometric practice to maximize this transformation in patient care for 2019.”

Professor Padmaja Sankaridurg, head of the Global Myopia Centre and leading international researcher in the myopia field said, “We are on the cutting-edge of myopia research and can provide what optometrists need to adapt to what will be a monumental change in the profession.
