PASADENA, Calif.—Acuity Eye Group has announced that Eliot Grossman, OD, has been named as the company’s new chief operations officer. In this role, Dr. Grossman will oversee operations for the large, multi-clinic group. Before taking on this role, he spent 30 years in leadership positions with Luxottica Group, including 13 years as president of EyeExam of California. There, he spearheaded the transformation of EyeExam of California’s operating business model, leading to the creation of the nation’s largest optometric HMO.

Dr. Grossman holds a B.S. in Biology from Northern Illinois University and earned his Doctor of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry. He said, “As a second-generation optometrist, my father taught me that the best way to take care of the patient was to focus on the outcome. Ensuring every patient gets what they need to see and live better has been my life’s work,”

Tom S. Chang, MD, partner and co-CEO of Acuity Eye Group said, “Our mission at Acuity Eye Group is simple—improve patients' quality of life through excellence in eyecare and patient experience. Eliot’s track record with Luxottica and his passion for patient care made him a perfect fit for Acuity. We are looking forward to his guidance in helping us achieve our vision and goals in the coming years.”

Established as one of the largest, integrated-service groups in the country, Acuity Eye Group is headquartered in Pasadena, California and offers access to ophthalmology services from Visalia to San Diego at its 47 locations.
