NEW YORK—The Accessories Council, based here, which represents and advances trends on behalf of various categories of fashion accessories, from sunwear to handbags, scarves, jewelry and more, has debuted AC Magazine, a digital revival of what used to be Accessories Magazine, a 100-year-old publication which shut down in October 2018. "AC Magazine is an opportunity for us to showcase the accessories' field in new ways," Karen Giberson, president of the Accessories Council and editor-in-chief of AC, told VMAIL, adding that AC Magazine will be issued quarterly in 2021.

She emphasized, "AC Magazine will talk about accessories in a way that the Council doesn't do via our weekly newsletter, but it was developed to be a companion to our programs and the work that we do." The debut issue’s content was created and written by Giberson and other contributors, including views of the Accessories Council board.

Jessica Richards, formerly of Hudson Bay Group, served as trend director, and Andrew Egan of Cool Grey Seven is the magazine’s creative director. Most images and stories will link to a brand’s website, and or to a retailer that sells the featured item. The debut issue has over 230 individual links in its stories, visuals and ads—mentioning 118 different brands/people, Giberson pointed out.

The digital AC will be issued quarterly in January, April, July and October of 2021, and be sent to 35,000 subscribers, a mix of buyers of large and small fashion retailers and wholesalers. Receipt of the AC digimag is open to both Accessories Council members and non-members, with an email signup.
