Job Description

We have a great opportunity which will allow you to use your healthcare experience while being part of a growing organiazation. We are looking for an individual for our office locations Elmhurst, Naperville, South Barrington and Chicago, The days and times of the position vary Monday-Friday and some Saturday mornings. Competitive compensation package is included for the position.

Requirements for the position are as following:

A high school diploma or equivalency
At least 2 years satisfactory work experience under an Ophthalmologist's supervison
A successful completion of an accredited program for Ophthalmic Technicians (preferred but not required) COT, COA, OSC
Must be willing to become certified Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology
Ability to work in a fast pace environment
Surgical knowledge
Familiar with EHR & E-Scribing
Basic computer knowledge
Multi-taking prioritization.

These are the kind of things you can expect to do on a regular basis if you are chosen to be part of our team:

Properly assiting the doctor in patient care
Performing technical workups and special testing
Efficiently and accurately acquiring patient history prior to seeing the doctor
Communicating with patients regarding follow-up care, surgeries, procedures, changes in appointment times, possible symptons, surgery scheduling, etc.
Maintaining and cleaning all equipment used throughtout the day
Returning phone calls to patients and pharmacies in a timely manner
Aid surgerons and surgical team in minor procedures.
Accurately performing the following tests: Refractions, Lensometry, Tonometry, Visual fields, Amslers, Muscle testing, Pupli Exams, Topography, OCT, IOL Masters/Ascans, Optos Fundus Camera
Readily scribing for doctor
