ATLANTA—Thomas Eye Group said it has acquired Georgia Optometry Group, adding five new locations throughout metro Atlanta market. Thomas Eye, which operates eyecare locations in Douglasville, Dunwoody, Kennesaw, Morrow and Stone Mountain, Ga., said it expects to “expand and provide eyecare to the ever-growing Atlanta community,” a recent announcement noted. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. No other details about the transaction were available at VMAIL’s press time. According to the group’s announcement, following the acquisition, Thomas Eye Group (TEG) will operate 16 offices across Metro Atlanta and will continue to build better access to quality eyecare in the community.

“We are very excited to welcome Georgia Optometry Group to the TEG family,” chief financial officer Stephen Janis said. “It is bringing together two of the oldest, largest and most respected eyecare providers in Metro Atlanta.”
 
In addition, five optometrists will be added to the practice increasing Thomas Eye’s capacity to provide excellent patient care that will focus on comprehensive eye exams with prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses.

The five new Thomas Eye Group locations will officially begin seeing patients on Thursday, Dec. 2, the announcement noted.
