The Exchange was scheduled to run April 22-25 at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Ariz. The franchising group said that a new date “will be announced in the coming days,” which will be as soon as the details are finalized. “As previously communicated, we are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation to ensure we take the appropriate actions to protect the well-being of our Vision Source members, vendors, and Vision Source team members,” the post noted. “As a result, we have made the decision to postpone The Exchange 2020 to a later date.”The post added, “We do not take this decision lightly and are confident it is the right decision for everyone involved.” The post on The Exchange website was signed by Jeff Duncan, Vision Source’s general manager; Donna Mikulecky, chief financial and vendor relations officer and Dr. Amir Khoshnevis, chief medical officer.In addition, Vision Source said it expects to host a “Virtual Exchange” this spring to ensure that its members and vendor partners have an opportunity to engage and to take advantage of the “exclusive Exchange offers” members have experienced at past conferences. The group also will announce a number of new programs that it wants to share with the membership.According to the post, once new dates are announced, all current registrations for the event (staff, guest, Saturday night event and others) will be applied automatically on behalf of attendees. Any attendees unable to attend the rescheduled event will be eligible for a refund.Vision Source noted that, for those who had registered, it is not necessary to cancel any hotel bookings that were made through the official The Exchange 2020 hotel partners.
