LONDON—The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) is planning its most ambitious event ever, to be held both online and in person. The overarching alliance for the global eye health sector, with more than 180 members in over 100 countries, is calling on leaders, innovators and change makers in the eye health sector to come together to create radical change. 2030 IN SIGHT LIVE will take place in Dubai and online from Wednesday, March 2, to Thursday, March 3, 2022. The event is being hosted in partnership with Noor Dubai, and those attending in person will be able to experience Expo 2020 taking place at the same time.

IAPB launched 2030 In Sight, a new 10-year strategy for the sector earlier in 2021. The strategy aims to ensure that everyone in the world has the access to eyecare and rehabilitation services they need by the end of the decade. The strategy wants to elevate eye health as a fundamental economic, social and development issue, integrate eye health within wider health care and activate consumer demand and drive market change.

2030 IN SIGHT LIVE will be a fully hybrid event ensuring that those who are attending online have the same experience as those attending in person, meaning that any changes to the global Covid-19 pandemic will not affect the event.

2030 IN SIGHT LIVE aims to give attendees exclusive learning opportunities and insights featuring global key opinion leaders.

Already announced as speaking are Paul Polman, former CEO of Unilever, Vice Chair UN Global Compact, Caroline Casey, founder of the Valuable 500 and president of the IAPB, and Alarcos Cieza, Unit Head, Sensory Functions, Disability and Rehabilitation, World Health Organization (WHO).

Further speakers and a full program will be announced in the new year.

Due to the nature of the program there are limited spaces available. IAPB is urging anyone interested in attending to register now here. The global body wants a wide range of people from across the eye health sector to join the event, to get involved in the conversation and to lead radical change.
