SAN DIEGO—Eyes On Glaucoma hosted a virtual charity spotlight on June 18 to 19, 2021 and raised $1,550 for the charity Optometry Giving Sight. The charity was spotlighted in the Virtual Conference Bag, and attendees were invited to click a button for which Eyes On Glaucoma would donate $1 in their name. The charity spotlight was first debuted at Eyes On Dry Eye, the specialty event held in April by Eyes On Eyecare. At that event, attendees initiated a gift of $1,500; this gift was met and exceeded by participation at Eyes On Glaucoma.
“We couldn’t be more excited to support Optometry Giving Sight through our Eyes On events,” said Matt Geller, OD and co-founder of Eyes On Eyecare, which produces the Eyes On Glaucoma and Eyes On Dry Eye events. “It’s a truly great organization doing tremendous work that optometrists are all passionate about: restoring vision and providing eyecare.”

Eyes On Eyecare will continue to hold virtual events for the eyecare community, including events focused on disease states such as dry eye, glaucoma, and others, as well as the eyecare conference Eyes On 2022. “We don’t plan on this as a one-time thing,” said Dr. Geller. “We want to get attendees, speakers, and everyone involved with our virtual events involved in giving back to the community.”
