American Diabetes Association

By CLICK Staff

November is American Diabetes Month and today, Nov. 14, is World Diabetes Day. All eyecare professionals can get involved to bring the connection of the disease and its impact on vision to their patients. A range of resources are out there for ECPs to tap for website and social media content. Among the resources are the American Optometric Association, Prevent Blindness America, AllAboutVision.com plus the International Diabetes Federation and the American Diabetes Association. VSP Vision Care is running a campaign all month to raise awareness among patients and which complements the group’s Eye on Diabetes initiative. A VSP Facebook page also educates consumers about the risks of diabetes and its prevalence in society.
