CooperVision's Growing CV+ Program Helps Practices Cultivate Their Online Presence

By CLICK Staff

PLEASANTON, Calif.—CooperVision's CV+ program is a multi-dimensional resource, a suite of information and services designed to help optometrists develop and expand their practices' presence online and build connections with patients. The company describes CV+ as "a business partnership between optometrists and CooperVision, focused on enhancing the value of their practice through the use of new technologies."

As James Gardner, VP of marketing for the Americas, told CLICK, "CooperVision's CV+ program has been developed to specifically address the key concerns of many eyecare practitioners — namely patient retention and practice profitability. By maintaining a dynamic and relevant online presence, a practice can communicate to its patient base in a highly relevant manner and extend its reach to new patients.

"A key insight into the program development," Gardner continued, "was that ECPs can feel overwhelmed when establishing and maintaining an online presence. CV+ provides ECPs with e-business plans that are customized for them, in addition to technology solutions that meet their needs. One of the main benefits of CV+ is the understanding that not all practices are alike and needs vary."

An initial purchase of CooperVision product allows an eyecare practitioner a chance to enroll in the CV+ program. Once a practitioner qualifies, he/she will undergo an enrollment interview. Over the year, the CV+ program offers services that help support a practice's digital footprint.

The CV+ site is organized with a Knowledge Center, topics on Social Media and Patient Engagement, Optometry Web Presence, Online Reputation Management, and ePractice Management, along with the CV+ Blog. The CV+ program includes:

  • e-Business Plan: After performing a thorough digital assessment, the CV+ team will provide the practitioner with a one-year eBusiness Plan to help guide the practice to the next level. The plan includes quarterly updates and semi-annual benchmarking of the practice in key areas such as Web Presence, Social Media & Patient Engagement, ePractice Management, etc.
  • Expert Consultants: The CV+ expert staff has significant experience in digital marketing, social media, and web design from small startups to Fortune 100 companies. Situated in Silicon Valley, the CV+ Consultants are focused on delivering value to the practice with the most innovative technologies.
  • The CV+ Blog and Aggregated Content. The CV+ team has created a library of information regarding social media, website design, search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), how to manage doctors' online reputation, and more to help support the eyecare practice.
  • Network of Providers: Joining the CV+ community gives practices access to the CV+ network of technology providers. These providers offer services to aid in website design, SEO, SEM, Facebook page development, inventory management, online patient communications, and online hiring tools.

Just recently released is CV+ Local, a new offer from CooperVision that has been developed to help optometrists improve their local search rankings by optimizing their business listings. With CV+ Local, the program's e-business experts will take the hassle out of claiming online business directories, the company said, by doing it for each office that enrolls in the program. "By fine-tuning online profiles, businesses will see improved placement in online search results in as little as 3-4 weeks," a spokesperson said.

Among the key benefits of CV+ Local, the company noted, are: an optimization of an eyecare practice's local-search rankings to help the practice stand out from the competition through customized content including images, business descriptions, links and keywords. It also helps control the practice's Google+ Local, Yelp and Yahoo! Local Profiles as well as offering practices who enroll customer in-office signage and tips to get and improve reviews and rankings.

Practices involved in CV+ Local receive regular updates via a Local Summary Report to show before and after images and the enhancements made to increase the practice's rankings on those Yahoo!, Google and Yelp business listings.

More info on the CV+ program are available from CooperVision representatives.
