PORTLAND, Ore.—PECAA, a nationwide doctor alliance group for independent eyecare professionals, has kicked off its Office Manager Certification Course - Leadership Academy, which will begin Oct. 14, 2019. The Office Manager Certification Course (OMCC) was initially developed in 2014 by OD Excellence prior to its merger with PECAA. The course was the first of its kind to feature education, testing, certification and continued enhancement and support to office managers in an independent eyecare practice. Since its launch, over 300 individuals have been certified.

The OMCC Leadership Academy expands on the original OMCC and is intended for graduates of the OMCC, long term office managers and others who have already mastered the basics of office management. Participating attendees receive an interpersonal skills profile analysis, designed to provide the attendee with insights on their communication strengths and areas for development.

The webinar series is accredited by the University of Houston, College of Optometry and is led by PECAA’s director of staff education, Valerie Manso, ABOC. “The leadership academy allows attendees to take a deep dive into the core areas of people and time management,” said Manso. “Attendees leave with a better grasp on how to manage a diverse group of people to create a more cohesive team.”

The live, six-series webinar courses cost $495 for PECAA members and $795 for non-members. For more information on the OMCC Leadership Academy and to register, click here.

PECAA offers its members customized tools, progressive tactics, business advice, marketing support, education, vendor relationships and peer-to-peer camaraderie to help members attract more patients, improve their bottom line and build a flourishing business.
