CHICAGO—Midwest Vision Partners (MVP) said it has recently completed two new partnerships, which also expands the group’s presence into three new states. The new eyecare partnerships are with Spectrum Eye Institute (Spectrum), which operates two eyecare locations in Illinois, and Lee Eye Center (LEC), which operates five locations throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The terms of the partnership transactions were not disclosed. The new states for Midwest Vision—which is backed by the San Francisco-based private equity firm Alpine Investors—are Illinois, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. It previously added eyecare practice groups in Michigan and Ohio.

These most recent partnerships represent MVP’s 19th and 20th overall since its founding in May 2019, broadening its network to over 135 providers and 70 clinical locations across the organization.

“We are incredibly excited to be partnering with Spectrum and LEC and to expand our footprint into three new states,” Jorge Lopez, MVP’s president and chief executive officer, said in the announcement. “The doctors at Spectrum and LEC are a perfect addition to the MVP team with their strong focus on people and drive to achieve exceptional outcomes. We are excited to support them in continuing their growth.”

Spectrum, with two locations in Joliet and New Lenox, Ill., provides medical, surgical, refractive and specialty care to patients in Southwest Chicagoland.

Dr. Eli Lelis of Spectrum Eye Institute, said, “We are excited to partner with MVP and their existing network of reputable and successful practices in the Midwest. We look forward to growing in partnership with them in Chicagoland.”

Lee Eye Center, based in Boardman, Ohio, has five locations, including two in Ohio, two in Pennsylvania, and one in West Virginia. LEC provides vision, medical, and surgical care to patients in the tri-state area.

“We look forward to leveraging the resources MVP provides its doctors and staff to continue to provide excellent care to our patients,” Dr. Tac Lee of Lee Eye Center, said. “MVP’s reputation precedes itself in supporting its partners, and I am excited to work alongside them to further facilitate our growth.”
