PADOVA, Italy—Kering Group, the global luxury group overseeing fashion brands Gucci and Saint Laurent, on Thursday reported a 14.2 percent sales gain for its third quarter, which it attributed to “sustained, well-balanced growth across all houses.” Eyewear sales, which topped €100.1 million in the quarter, also stood out in terms of strong performance, according to the group’s announcement. The company did not release earnings information in the report on Thursday. The eyewear business—which Kering includes in its “corporate and other” business segment—achieved consolidiated sales of €100.1 million in the third quarter, which represented a 29.1 percent comparable increase over the year-ago period. (In a presentation on the company’s website, Kering noted that “total sales” of eyewear were €130 million in the third quarter.)

The eyewear segment's performance was “underpinned by the excellent performances of the Gucci, Cartier and Saint Laurent eyewear collections and the successful launches of Balenciaga and Montblanc,” Kering noted in its announcement.

Overall Kering sales totaled €3.88 billion, which represented an 11.6 percent sales increase on a “comparable” basis, the company said.

“We achieved another strong quarter, and all our segments contributed to our solid top-line gain,” chairman and chief executive officer François-Henri Pinault said in the announcement. “Our progress, on top of considerable expansion in the past two years, is healthy and well balanced across all Houses. We are consolidating our growth trajectory, and carrying out continuous, targeted operating investments.”
