More Images
Product: Garmin Varia Vision In-Sight Display (part #010-01952-00)
Top Line: Garmin, known for its GPS navigational systems, is introducing Varia Vision, its first in-sight cycling display. Varia Vision enhances road awareness by putting the cycling information into the cyclist’s line of sight. The lightweight display attaches to either side of a pair of sunglasses and relays information directly from a compatible device, enabling cyclists to maintain focus while seeing workout targets, finding the next turn or staying aware of cars approaching from behind.
Close Up: Varia Vision displays up to four crucial data fields plus clear, color-coded graphic displays at any given time. This allows cyclists to view information such as their heart rate, power and speed and still keep their eyes peeled for potential hazards in front of them. Varia Vision can also help cyclists find their way with detailed navigation prompts, complete with street names, directional arrows and distance to turn. Varia Vision vibration alerts let the cyclist know if they are approaching segments, completing laps, leaving a workout zone or receiving a call/text. If paired with Varia rearview radar, cyclists can know when vehicles are approaching from behind.

BPI’s Therapeutic Tints Provide Ocular Protection and Comfort

Product: Therapeutic Tints
Top Line: BPI (Brain Power Inc.) is releasing a line of therapeutic tints that provide ocular protection and comfort.
Close Up:
  • BPI Blue Filter Vision 450 reduces the scattered blue/violet light within the eye. A saturated yellow tint that blocks blue/violet light with wavelengths shorter than 450nm. It blocks a minimum of the rest of the visible spectrum.
  • BPI Blue Filter Vision 540 is a dark amber brown tint that blocks wavelengths shorter than 540nm. A sunglass color that blocks violet and blue, it is useful in bright light situations.
  • BPI Blue Filter Vision 480 is a blue light absorbing filter. A true sunglass brown with no color distortion, it blocks further into the visible spectrum.
  • BPI Diamond Dye 500/550 is an orange to red/orange tint, which blocks wavelengths shorter than the 500nm to 550nm range. It is recommended for patients with retinitis pigmentosa and macular degeneration.
  • BPI Total Day is a tan colored tint that provides blue/violet attenuation with minimal color distortion and is recommended for patients with macular degeneration.
  • BPI Total Night, a light saturated yellow tint, is especially useful in blocking the blue/violet component of HID headlamps encountered in night driving.
  • BPI Deep Red Monochrome 600 has long been used to allow those afflicted with red/green color blindness to differentiate between red and green.
  • BPI Melanin is a yellowish brown tint that mimics the absorption spectrum of natural melanin, which reduces the destructive, high-energy blue/violet portion of the visible spectrum while allowing passage of enough blue light to provide natural perception of color.
