Fast Grind
Top Line: Super Systems Optical Technologies has reengineered its Fast Grind
2200 Modified Lens Surfacing System. Modified surfacing allows for a simple, affordable, and compact machine that produces digital lenses at minimal cost. It only requires a few simple steps using Fast Grind technology to produce digital high-definition progressives and other lens types to prescription with controlled thickness in 12 minutes, according to Super Systems. Fast Grind offers the quickest turnaround time of any system currently on the market that processes lenses. Lenses are provided pre-blocked to eliminate expensive equipment, valuable time and costly mistakes.
Close Up: Updates to the system include refined tuning; offering super smooth grinding patterns to produce digital HD progressives. The latest engineering developments reflect 20 years of technology for the Fast Grind product line. Other developments include an all new portable water system, which can re-circulate water from a storage device via a pump and filtration system allowing for every pair of lenses to be produced with the same quality. This revised water system makes the Fast Grind much more accessible to those without running water in other parts of the world as well as optical shops that might not have an existing water line available. All machines include a flat panel display and digital gauge to compliment the technological advances.
Vital Stats: The Fast Grind 2200 Modified Lens Surfacing System can produce progressive, single vision, FT-28, FT-35, 7x28, 8x35 and blended bifocal lenses in standard plastic, high-index plastic, Transitions, SunSensors and polarized with anti-reflective and mirror coatings.
