Zeiss i.Profiler plus and i.Scription Integrate with MaximEyes by First Insight

Product:
i.Profiler plus, i.Scription and MaximEyes
Top Line: Carl Zeiss Vision and First Insight, developer of MaximEyes 11.0 practice management and MaximEyes SQL certified electronic health records software for optometrists and ophthalmologists, are introducing a direct integration with MaximEyes 11.0 and Carl Zeiss Vision’s i.Profiler plus and i.Scription.
Close Up: i.Scription is a method of optical calculation that optimizes a patient’s prescription based upon the total wavefront aberrations of each eye as measured by the i.Profilerplus. By optimizing a prescription for the eye’s total wavefront aberrations, including both the “low-order” and “high-order” aberrations in conjunction with a subjective refraction, i.Scription can significantly enhance overall visual performance including visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, and depth perception, particularly at night and in low-light viewing conditions. The i.Profilerplus offers a variety of diagnostic capabilities that are invaluable tools in a variety of clinical applications: evaluating the complete refractive status of the eye, including low- and high-order wavefront aberrations; fitting soft and rigid contact lenses; monitoring ocular disease processes; and managing or co-managing refractive and surgical interventions. Ocular wavefront data captured by the i.Profilerplus is also used to calculate an i.Scription, which is a wavefront-guided spectacle correction that offers enhanced visual performance over a range of viewing conditions.
Vital Stats: This two-way integration eliminates the need to rekey data with just a few clicks, said NitinRai, First Insight’s president/CEO. “Practices can export patient demographics to the i.Profiler plus equipment and import i.Profilerautorefractor data into a MaximEyes medical exam record if wavefront measurement data is available. The optimized Final Rx data from i.Scription can be easily imported back into a MaximEyes medical exam record. In addition, this integration will function in a Terminal Server environment.”
Joe Donahoe, Carl Zeiss Vision’s president-North America, noted, “As increasing numbers of practices incorporate i.ProfilerPlus and i.Scription into their exam protocol, integration with patients’ medical records becomes more important. This integration with MaximEyes, one of the leading systems available today, is a significant milestone in the growth of i.Scription technology.”

Eyemaginations Expands Luma Software Integration

Product:
Luma Software from Eyemaginations
Top Line: Eyemaginations Luma software is now compatible with Smart System from M&S Technologies, MaximEyes from First Insight, and NexTech Practice 2011. These integrations ensure an easy experience for users as well as help practitioners deliver consistent education in the exam room and beyond.
Close Up: The Smart System from M&S Technologies is a computerized vision testing program designed to deliver efficiency to the modern exam room and help doctors provide exceptional patient care. As a complement to that initiative, Luma can now be controlled directly through the M&S Technology System using a remote control to present Luma animations to patients in an engaging, easy-to-understand manner in the exam room.
MaximEyes from First Insight is a practice management and CCHIT/ONC-ATCB “Complete Certified” EHR system for both optometry and ophthalmology. Again, designed with efficiency in mind, this new integration passes diagnostic codes from MaximEyes into Luma so that the relevant educational topics within Luma are queued automatically to save time for the practitioner and making the overall process more proficient.
NexTech Practice 2011 is a complete ophthalmology, refractive surgery, and optometry specific EMR and PMS that is ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 fully certified. The Luma interface comprises an interactive button within the software so that the practitioner can directly link to the patient education animations within Luma easily and quickly. This increases efficiency for the doctor, the level of education for the patient, and ROI for the practice, according to Eyemaginations.
