SOFTWARE

First Insight's MaximEyes EHR Software Receives 2014 ONC HIT Certification

Product: MaximEyes EHR Software
Top Line: First Insight Corp. announced that its MaximEyes EHR software, Version 1.5.0.0, is compliant with the ONC 2014 Edition criteria and was certified as an EHR Module on August 23, 2013 by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT), an ONC-ACB, in accordance with the applicable Eligible Provider certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The ONC 2014 Edition criteria supports both Stage 1 and 2 meaningful use measures required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
Close Up: The EHR Module 2014 Edition means EHR technology is certified for at least one of the 2014 Edition EHR certification criteria for either the ambulatory or inpatient practice setting. An EHR Module could provide a single capability required by one certification criterion or it could provide all capabilities but one, required by the certification criteria for a Complete EHR.
“First Insight is the first 'eye care only' software company to be listed on the 2014 ONC Certified HIT Product List,” said Nitin Rai, president and CEO of First Insight. “First Insight plans to attest additional criteria and quality measures to attain Complete EHR certification well in advance of compliancy deadlines. We believe that by first receiving the EHR Module certification, this helps pave the way for eligible optometrists and ophthalmologists to demonstrate meaningful use and qualify for both Stage 1 and Stage 2 Medicare and Medicaid incentives. As a leading EHR solutions partner for optometry and ophthalmology practices, our company is committed to supporting and guiding our customers to becoming meaningful users through exceptional service, training, education and support. We maintain a leadership role in the industry by being first in adopting new standards in MaximEyes EHR. In addition, our 2014 Users Conference will focus on providing real life examples on what eligible providers must do to meet Stage 2 attestation.”
Vital Stats: MaximEyes EHR, Version 1.5.0.0 certification number is CC-2014-839110-1. ONC HIT certification conferred by CCHIT does not represent an endorsement of the certified EHR technology by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

TOOLS / SUPPLIES

Quantum Offers Safe, Economical Etching Material

Product: FusionEtch
Top Line: AR laboratories etch lenses to provide the foundation for a reliable AR coating. The etching process has historically relied on a product that is caustic and can be expensive. FusionEtch is formulated to provide the same performance quality, but in a way that is safer to handle and at a cost savings to the lab, according to Quantum Innovations.
Close Up: To provide greater safety, Quantum has prepackaged FusionEtch into quantities that specifically match the requirements of the lab’s equipment. This means lab employees no longer have to scoop approximate amounts from a 100 pound container and contend with dust and residue. Instead, the accurately sized packages are safe, easier to load, and dissolve easily.
“FusionEtch is formulated to provide the same performance quality, but in a way that is safer to handle and at a cost savings to the lab,” said Chris Foley, national sales manager for Quantum Innovations. “Made in the USA, labs can order pre‐packaged amounts for their system’s daily use, which is much easier and safer for lab staff to use. It’s a simple solution for daily maintenance.”
