VSP Optics Group Launches Sunsync Photochromic

Wearer: “Sunsync is a high-performance photochromic that was specifically developed to complement our broad portfolio of Unity lenses,” said Todd Riley, director of business development for VSP Optics Group. “Adding a quality photochromic expands our product suite, which is designed to provide simple solutions for eyecare professionals to meet the needs of every patient.”
Specifics: Sunsync filters up to 93 percent of visible light after 15 minutes and fades to 70 percent clear in six minutes with an overall indoor clarity of 88 percent, according to VSP. The lenses block 100 percent of UVA and UVB radiation. They are available in CR-39 monomer from PPG, polycarbonate, Trivex and 1.67 high index for standard single-vision lenses as well as most Unity single-vision and progressive designs.
Selling Points: The Sunsync lenses darken fast, fade quickly and are available in gray and brown. The lenses provide eyecare practices high value with attractive pricing and an opportunity to earn $5 through the UnitySavings program, VSP Optics Group said.

For maximum scratch resistance and AR compatibility, Advanta lenses are protected by VEL’s own Continua thermal-cured hard coating. The lenses have base curve compatibility with Vision-Ease Lens SFSV for out-of-range surfacing or stock outage.
