Quick Take: To commemorate 30 years of performance eyewear design, Oakley has launched its Heritage Collection. The collection offers a fresh take on the classics that bring together the best of what Oakley has offered and continues to offer in performance and style, according to Oakley.
Wearer: The Heritage Collection was made for customers who are passionate about sports and about Oakley. Those who grew up with the brand will view the classic designs and colors with nostalgia, recalling their first pair of Oakley eyewear and the favorites they’ve owned in the past, while the collection also speaks to a new, young consumer who appreciates authenticity, the company said.
Specifics: Oakley brought back some of their most groundbreaking designs and favorite colors, and applied those colors to some of their current performance eyewear. In addition to historical reissues, the collection includes custom editions of current performance styles like the RadarLock, Radar, Flak Jacket XLJ, and Racing Jacket. Commemorating Oakley’s 30 years of eyewear innovation, a “30” graphic is laser etched at the corner of each lens.
Selling Points: Styles include a limited edition release of the Eyeshades, a reissue of their world-first performance eyewear design, engineered with improved nose pad construction and “2014” inside the frame; the reissued Razor Blades, the evolution of the Eyeshades, available in multiple lens/frame color combinations; and the Frogskins, the brand’s first dual-lens design. The Heritage edition includes one of their earliest logos, a collectors pin and sticker. Each frame in the Heritage Collection comes with a custom Microclear bag decked with art that celebrates their “design-mad” approach.

Wearer: The collection is geared towards the stylish, progressive-wearing patient. Patients are able to purchase any frame style, ophthalmic or sun, and then receive another pair at no additional cost.
Specifics: The launch collection consists of 12 men’s and 12 ladies’ ophthalmic styles, along with 12 men’s and 12 ladies’ Rx-able sunglass styles, featuring a blend of plastic and metal styles.

Selling Points: The new line delivers pops of color with retro-inspired styling. A rubber cutout detail wraps around the metal temples of models SK 3118 and SK 3120, two key styles from the men’s ophthalmic collection. Offered in rectangle variations, model SK 3118 features a full-rimmed flat metal front, while model SK 3120 features a semi-rimless front, delivering a lightweight alternative within the collection. The sleek temples of models SK 2084, SK 2085 and SK 2086 are designed to reveal pops of color with a double-layered acetate construction. A subtle carved effect reveals lighter shades of pink and purple horn, as well as crystal underneath the frames’ deep tones of black, purple and tortoise.
