Wescan Adds Sunwear to Evatik Collection

Specifics: The inaugural collection consists of 18 models in stainless steel and acetate, with diverse eyeshapes ranging from the modern rectangle to vintage aviator styles. Intricate temple detailing and two-toned coloring infuse each frame with masculine elegance.
Selling Points: “Men’s eyewear can traditionally be divided into two categories: fashion and technical,” said Beverly Suliteanu, creative director and VP of product development for Wescan. “By marrying cutting-edge technology with fashion-forward styling, Evatik Sunwear defies traditional convention and offers today’s urban male the ultimate accessory to express and enhance his personal style.” Dually inspired by fashion and performance, Evatik Sunwear blends modern, masculine styling with superior lens capabilities. All lenses are 6-base and Rx-able, with either CR-39 or polarized lenses. Regardless of the material, all lenses are hydrophobic, have a built-in scratch resistant coating, 100 percent UVA & UVB protection and a backside 7- layer anti-reflective coating.

Ogi Eyewear Unveils the Artisan Series
Quick Take: Ogi Eyewear’s spring release into their Evolution Collection, the Artisan Series, adds another segment to their ever-expanding array of character-driven eyewear with handcrafted details reintroduced in inventive new ways.
Specifics: An accessible optical collection that stands apart from the rest of the Evolution Collection.
Selling Points: “The Evolution Collection embraces Ogi’s heritage but adds an element of distinction, appealing to a larger audience by introducing a wider range of sizes for added versatility,” said Phil Windyk, director of marketing for Ogi. “Additions to the Evolution Collection closely mirror the latest trends in eyewear while keeping a firm grasp on functionality.” Key styles in the Artisan Series include the 3500, a new men’s style inspired by the retro shapes and industrial details of a classic American foundry in four distressed color combinations, and the 5500, a soft, classic shape with a matte front and keyhole bridge. All Ogi frames come with a black clamshell hardcase with a lime crushed velour lining and embossed cleaning cloth. Point-of-purchase materials include an Ogi logo cube, counter cards and large window banners.

McGee Debuts XOXO Impulse Optical Group
Quick Take: The new XOXO “Impulse” collection from the McGee Group includes two looks that make an edgy fashion statement.
Specifics: The Starlette and Coco optical styles in two colors each.
Selling Points: The Starlette is a semi-rimless frame with a modified oval eyeshape, spring hinges and adjustable nose pads. Wide angular temples with wild animal prints and two-tone acetate temple tips give Starlette a sassy fashionable edge. The Coco is a handmade acetate frame with a modified rectangular eyeshape. Swirled acetate on the frame’s front and temples and metal XO detailing on the hinges brings a modern twist to a classic look. Accounts who purchase the entire collection will receive an XOXO wristlet and their choice of a counter card or 2-sided poster.

Zyloware Releases New Stetson Styles
Quick Take: Zyloware Eyewear has announced its February 2012 release of new styles from the Stetson and Stetson Off Road collections.
Specifics: Two new Stetson Off Road optical styles and one each in Stetson core and Stetson XL.
Selling Points: The Stetson 286 is a full rim metal frame with a double bar bridge; thin, metal temples and a modified-rectangular shape. The Stetson XL 15 is a full rim metal frame in an extended fit to suit a wide variety of men with metal endpieces and temples feature a repeating beaded design. Both have zyl temple tips, snap-in silicone nosepads and spring hinges for added comfort and accommodate progressive lenses. The Stetson Off Road 5023 is a full rim metal frame in a modified oval shape with thin, sleek temples; while the 5024 features a semi-rimless metal front in a sleek, modified rectangular shape and metal temples adorned with a pressed diamond design. Both feature zyl temple tips, snap-in nosepads and integrated spring hinges, while the 5023 accommodates progressive lenses.

Costa Presents First 2012 Style, Double Haul
Double Haul is the first style from Costa to debut in 2012. The Double Haul is equipped with Costa’s signature vent system to alleviate lens fog in extreme weather conditions, as well full eye coverage to allow full range of vision while on the water. The style features a large fitting frame with Hydrolite no-slip nose pads, sturdy integral hinges and durable co-injected molded temples. The Double Haul can be customized with Costa’s patented 580 lenses in either glass or polycarbonate and is also available in Costa’s 580 Rx program.
Rudy Project Bows 2012 Product Offerings
Rudy Project has introduced its 2012 collection, including new styles and new colors in established models. Recent additions include updates on performance pieces like the Hypermask Performance and Hypermask, Revenge, Ryzer, Rob 2.0 and Kyliz XY, as well as the Windmax Helmet, among others.
