SECOND LOOKS

ProDesign Unveils the Zense Collection

More Images
Quick Take:
ProDesign Denmark has introduced the Zense Collection featuring mixed materials and textures.
Specifics: Six new optical styles, the Zense 7901-06, which includes two feminine shapes in six colors each, one unisex shape in five colors each, two masculine shapes in five colors each and one model in an aluminum and titanium combination (Malcolm X) which comes in three colors.
Selling Points: ProDesign’s designer‘s love for aluminum materials and colors inspired this collection which combines acetate, titanium and aluminum. A bold block hinge creates the connection between the frame fronts and the acetate temples without disrupting the flow of color, while the different textures of the aluminum and the acetate bring a certain dynamic to the Zense frames. On the temples, the colors are strongest on the inside, with just a drop on the outside, achieved by milling away a small part oft he upper layer of acetate. Other details include the integrated rim lock, that is special for ProDesign, and the titanium nosepads that ensures an allergy-friendly frame.

Legacie Bows the Kata Reverse Group

Quick Take:
Legacie, the luxury division of B. Robinson, has added the Reverse group to their Kata Eyewear collection.
Specifics: Four new optical styles, two for women and two for men.
Selling Points: The Reverse concept is based upon the idea of turning the hinge of a frame inside out. By exposing the connection between titanium and acetate on an inverted hinge, the ordinary is elevated to the exceptional. The Reverse 9, a cat-eye optical frame, and Reverse 10, a rectangle optical frame, are the first ladies’ additions to the group. Both styles are crafted from handmade acetate with exclusive new color introductions that include peach, russet, seafoam/sand, rose and seaglass. Two new handmade acetate men’s optical styles are also being released; the Reverse 11, a keyhole wayfarer, and the Reverse 12, a rectangle. New color introductions for these frames include noir/grey, steel, walnut/yellow crystal, greige and havana tortoise.
