Eyewear Designs Launches Paula Deen Eyewear
Quick Take: Eyewear Designs has launched the Paula Deen Eyewear collection from restaurateur, cookbook author and Food Network star, Paula Deen.

Specifics: The launch collection included 12 ophthalmic styles featuring rich temple designs and fabulous use of color and color combinations. Many styles come with adjustable nose pads and spring hinges, while the collection is sized to accommodate progressive lenses.
Selling Points: Paula Deen has become an American lifestyle icon. Paula Deen Enterprises includes 17 different licensees and covers a range of products, including a cookware and dishes, assorted food products, sauces, spices and bakery goods; as well as a complete line of furniture and greeting cards. To support the launch, Eyewear Designs has created a counter card and a display logo block, as well as offering a promotion that provides a Paula Deen Signature 2-quart tea kettle with the purchase of 12 frames, a porcelain skillet twin pack with the purchase of 24 and a porcelain 6-piece soup and stew set with the purchase of 36 frames through the end of December.

L’Amy’s Columbia Eyewear Adds Carbon Fiber Styles
Quick Take: Columbia Eyewear from L’Amy America has announced its fifth new sub collection—Carbon Fiber—for the active-lifestyle, offering the high performance benefits of pure Carbon Fiber.
Specifics: The sub-collection includes four new styles—the Raja, Sitka, Wasatch, and Zephyr—offered in three colors per model, some with a bi-injected “Gripol” rubber temple framework, to comprise a total of nine skus.
Selling Points: “Carbon Fiber offers an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and extreme rigidity, making it the ideal eyewear material especially for those very active outdoor consumers. The brand believes technology-driven designs are fueling global growth and Columbia is looking forward to similar innovative product launches in the sunglass category for 2012.

Zyloware Releases New Styles into Via Spiga
Quick Take: Zyloware Eyewear has announced the January 2012 release of new styles from the Via Spiga collection.
Specifics: Two new optical styles for women, both of which have snap-in nosepads and accommodate progressive lenses.
Selling Points: The Via Spiga Nicola is a petite and feminine semi-rimless metal frame. The front features a softened rectangular shape while an all-over zebra cut-out design and sparkling stones feature on the metal endpieces and temples. The Via Spiga Lasa is a full rim metal frame with a petite, oval shaped front featuring a repeating pattern of geometric cut-outs on the metal temples.

Quick Take: Robert Marc has introduced the Via Roma collection for Fall/Winter 2011. The collection reflects the Roman spirit where the classic formulas of European craftsmanship are reinvented and given new colorful and luxurious lives.
Specifics: Via Roma includes seven acetate optical styles, three rimless optical styles, three semi-rimless optical styles, as well as seven acetate sunglasses and three metal suns.
