A Busy Vision Expo West 2023 Wraps Up in Las Vegas |

LAS VEGAS—The aisles were crowded and the energy of both show attendees and exhibitors was positive during the recently completed Vision Expo West 2023, a four-day event which brought together thousands of members of the optical industry, offering the newest product offerings and launches, valuable education and learning opportunities, special events and gatherings—as well as some fun in the sun. Attendees had the opportunity to explore a wide variety of exhibitors, all enthusiastic to showcase the latest innovations in their respective fields, from high fashion to groundbreaking medical advancements and sophisticated new technologies.

Silmo d'Or Honors Eyewear Design and Technology Achievements at the 2023 Awards
PARIS—Silmo bestowed its 30th annual Silmo d'Or Awards last weekend during the French eyewear show and exhibition held here from Sept. 29–Oct. 2. At the ceremony, honors were bestowed upon a range of eyewear, sunwear and technology companies, whose products were judged by an invitational jury of experts, according to an announcement by show organizers. Indies Team Up With Latinos En Optometry This Hispanic Heritage Month
NEW YORK—Hispanic Heritage Month, which is observed from September 15 through October 15 every year, provides an opportunity for all Americans to celebrate Hispanic Americans who have made an impact on our country. Enacted into law on August 17, 1988, Hispanic Heritage Month’s 30-day span covers a number of important days for Hispanic Americans: September 15 is the anniversary of independence for Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. September 16 is Mexico’s independence day, while September 18 is Chile’s. Dia de la Raza is on October 12.
