OXFORD, U.K.— Adlens, a leading supplier of variable focus eyewear, has expanded its global sales leadership team with the addition of three sales veterans.

David Eichelberger has been named director of sales. He joined Adlens in 2012, and is based at the company’s Boston office. Over the past 30 years Eichelberger has held management positions within several of the largest companies in the optical market. With a wide experience in both lenses and frames, he has a detailed understanding of all distribution channels in the industry.

John Barry, who was appointed director of business development, also joined Adlens in 2012. He is responsible for pursuing opportunities for all product platforms in new markets. Barry has decades of experience in the optical industry, having been involved in marketing and sales of optical lenses, sunglasses, reading glasses and ophthalmic eyewear.

Florence Cheng, who has been named director of the Asia Pacific region, has over 10 years’ experience in strategic planning and new business development. She has led the set-up of Hong Kong regional offices and/or China local subsidiaries for many well-known international brands. She also brings extensive knowledge of market entry, licensing and franchising within Asia Pacific.

The move follows the recent announcement, that Adlens has entered into a joint venture with global eyewear distributor Mondottica. This agreement has led to the establishment of Adlens Europe, a strategic partnership that will facilitate the sale of Adlens’ existing products into the European market.
