NEW YORK—Vision Monday recently announced the winner to the inaugural #VMSpirit Contest, or Seasonal Spirit Contest, a holiday giveaway competition held on VM’s Facebook page and Twitter account inviting optical retailers and eyecare professionals to post photos and videos of their “vision” of holiday fun happening in an optical setting. The winner of the first-ever competition, chosen just in time for New Year’s celebrations, is Santa Monica Eye Medical Group of Santa Monica, Calif.
 

Santa Monica Eye Medical Group boasts “outstanding board certified doctors with a passion for the best patient care and surgical outcome and quality care for over 60 years and more than 100,000 successful cataract surgeries,” according to the group’s Facebook page. The practice also has Saturday clinics and an onsite-optical shop they prepped in prime condition for the winter season.

“We went all out with the details this year,” said the company’s contest entry. “Trees filled with pine cones and cardinals, gifts on the shelves, plenty of lights and a five-foot wreath” were a few features pointed out by the spirited submission.

The group received a prize package from Vision Monday that included:

  • A $50 American Express Gift card for some last-minute shopping or a personal splurge
  • A spotlight on VM’s Facebook page, appearing as our Facebook cover photo for two weeks
  • #VMSpirit posts seen by our 7,000+ followers on Twitter over the course of the holiday season
  • A featured post on the Vision Monday company page on LinkedIn
  • A photo slideshow in VisionMonday.com’s new Multimedia section (#VMultimedia)
