A new mobile app by EyeMed Vision has been released to give members easy access to their vision plan information on mobile devices. Catering to consumers on the go, the app syncs with EyeMed member accounts so they can digitally access their ID card, get customer service help and locate eyecare providers in their area.
According to EyeMed, the app is the first member mobile application to be released by a managed vision care company for the purpose of providing access to benefits information and was designed to include features members would appreciate most as determined by the company’s market research. The palm-sized approach can certainly come in handy during common scenarios in which patients arrive for a scheduled appointment without their ID card or benefits information, or emergency scenarios in which a patient needs a new pair of contacts or glasses and isn’t aware of area eyecare providers in-network.
EyeMed Members can:
  • Log in to view their EyeMed ID Card
  • Access benefits and eligibility status
  • Locate an EyeMed network provider and get turn-by-turn directions from their current location (or click to call)
  • Get contact information for customer care or frequently asked questions

The app is free and currently available in the iTunes app store for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch and will soon be available for Android devices, EyeMed said. ​
