STYLE: Sunwear Collections Off the Charts – New Hope for Old Records, Sunglasses By John Sailer Friday, August 30, 2013 9:05 AM BUDAPEST—While audiophiles might argue that their favorite recordings sound best on vinyl, there are still enough old unwanted albums that a company called Vinylize is turning them into sunwear. Using a process refined over a number of years, the company adheres vinyl with cellulose acetate and handcrafts the frames. They even turn discarded 7-inch singles into cases for those recycled sunglasses by folding them in half and sewing on a zipper. This video shows how they are “Handmade in Hungary.”
