NEW YORK—Oliver Peoples has collaborated with the Cary Grant Estate to bring to market an optical and sunglass style inspired by the iconic movie, “North by Northwest,” representing the style and character of “one of cinema’s greatest figures.”

Oliver Peoples presents a loyal representation of Cary Grant’s sophisticated nature with a thoughtful touch of modernity. The Cary Grant eyewear styles mark the first-ever authorized collaboration with the actor’s estate and is the first time Grant’s name and likeness have been loaned to any brand.

“Cary wore glasses that were simple, sophisticated and of great quality. We realized that this was Oliver Peoples’ mantra,” said Grant’ wife, Barbara Grant Jaynes.

The Cary Grant styles come in six colorways, crafted to include a product-exclusive Grant tortoise acetate and an 18k gold plated style for Oliver Peoples boutiques and online. On the temple tip of the frame there is a discreet CG monogram created from Grant’s personal stationary and a custom case inspired by the colors of his suit worn in the film.

“I’m incredibly humbled that Oliver Peoples is the first brand to collaborate with the Cary Grant Estate. We wanted the frames to pay homage to the style and aesthetic of Cary, one of the most iconic Hollywood actors of all time. Working so closely with Barbara and Jennifer, and hearing their personal stories about Cary was an exceptional experience and helped us define the details that best reflected his taste,” said Giampiero Tagliaferri, creative director, Oliver Peoples.

The Cary Grant is now available in Oliver Peoples boutiques and online. From May onward they will be available at select wholesale partners.
