BERLIN—Mykita has introduced the worldwide release of the Mykita + Maison Martin Margiela collection.

According to the two companies, Mykita and Maison Martin Margiela are kindred creative minds and are very excited about establishing a radical, new eyewear collection together that reflects the synergies of both houses.

Maison Martin Margiela is a French fashion house which presents haute couture and ready-to-wear collections, as well as leather goods, footwear, accessories, fragrances, interior design and furniture. The brand first became involved in eyewear in 2009 and has chosen Mykita to take their eyewear to the next step by creating an even more distinctive and complete optical range.

The collection is comprised of stainless steel frames coated in a thick, transparent powder to seal them that are inspired by historical shapes of the last century. These frames are monochromatic with matching lenses available in six unisex styles and four colorways each. Additionally, there are two pairs of acetate frames that almost have the appearance of a frame within a frame done intone-on-tone or with contrasting color schemes. The acetate frames are offered in four unisex styles with five colorways each.
