Actor Jeremy Renner plays Carmine Polito in the upcoming American crime drama American Hustle. The film is based on the FBI ABSCAM operation of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Carmine Polito is the shady mayor of the poor city of Camden, N.J. He is a passionate, volatile political operator who lives in a world of corruption while being caught between the con-artists and Feds. Dita Von Teese is an American burlesque dancer, model, costume designer, entrepreneur and occasional actress. She is thought to have helped re-popularize burlesque performance and is often referred to as the “Queen of Burlesque.” Her fascination with 1940s cinema and classic retro style began at a young age and was fostered by her mother, a fan of old, Golden age-era Hollywood films, who would buy clothes for her daughter to dress up in. Jared Harris is a British actor, best known for his roles as Lane Pryce on the AMC series Mad Men. Mad Men is set in the 1960s, initially at the fictional Sterling Cooper advertising agency on Madison Avenue in New York City, and later at the newly created firm, Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce (later Sterling Cooper & Partners). The plot focuses on the business of the agencies, as well as the personal lives of the characters, regularly depicting the changing moods and social mores of the U.S. in the 1960s.
