Malin Akerman, star of the sitcom Trophy Wife, plays Kate, a reformed party girl who becomes the third wife of an older man, Pete. Kate finds herself in the middle of a family of three stepchildren and two ex-wives but she is determined to prove that she's not just a "trophy wife." In real life, Akerman is hardly just a showpiece, in fact, the single mother has gone on record stating "I tend to get a lot of scripts in which people want me to play the trophy wife, which is frustrating because I want the interesting, meaty roles."
