Bold Face explores the cult of celebrity and the styles, trends and brands that stars show off in movies, at events and living their daily lives. To be considered for inclusion please contact senior editor, Deirdre Carroll.

Ah good ol' American cultural stereotypes! In this edition of Bold Face, we reimagine the 1977 group The Village People with a new cast of characters much more reflective of our times. Now let’s just hope they can sing harmony…

The Cowboy
Everything old is new again, such is the case the with 80’s soap opera Dallas. Premiering on June 13, the revamped series airing on TNT is a modern day continuation of the original series. It includes several actors/characters from the original series, including J.R. Ewing, originally and still played by Larry Hagman. Hagman wears the Flexon FL665 from Marchon

The Soldier
Adrianne Palacki
stars in G.I. Joe: Retaliation the 2013 sequel to 2009's G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. In the movie she plays Lady Jaye, the G.I. Joe Team's covert operations specialist. Originally set to be released this summer, the film’s release date was pushed back to reshoot scenes in which Channing Tatum’s character Duke appears. Tatum appeared in the first movie and has subsequently become a very popular actor. The original film saw his character die off early in the film, which did not go over well with test audiences. Promotional stills are already out for the film though and we can see that Palacki’s character wears the Benedict from Oliver Peoples in the film...

The Policeman
Jake Gyllenhaal isn’t a real cop but after spending five months in training, assisted by the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, police departments in L.A. and Inglewood, and others, to train for his latest movie, End of Watch, he probably could be. The L.A. cop drama, which will be released on Sept. 28, follows a pair of local patrol officers, Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña, who play partners. As part of their training the two rode-along with police in real squad cars, endured a controlled burn by fire officials to help them to play a scene in a flaming house and had to learn to shoot past each other with live ammunition. To complete his transformation to cop, Gyllenhaal wear the Oakley Gascan throughout the movie…

The Biker
You see what Bold Face did there? The original group had a “Leatherman” who looked like something straight off a Harley. Our Village People Revisited is a much more environmentally friendly group and features a biker who’s “hog” is much more Miss Piggy than Hell’s Angels. The newly engaged Miley Cyrus can often be found riding her bike in her hometown of Toluca Lake, Calif. On this particular day she was wearing the Ray-Ban RB3447 sunglasses from Luxottica

The Indian
It’s no longer politically correct to call a Native American an “Indian” but you know what is PC? Calling someone of Indian descent an Indian. So here we have comedian and actor Aziz Ansari in the Terry from Moscot. Ansari is currently at the 2012 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee but he’s got a movie coming out - Ice Age 4: Continental Drift – on July 13 and will be back in the studio after the summer to start work on the 5th season of Parks and Recreation.

The Construction Worker
Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a celebrity in eyewear dressed as a construction worker? Neither did Bold Face until now. That being the case, we’ve decided TVP ’12 is a fivesome instead.
