Bold Face explores the cult of celebrity and the styles, trends and brands that stars show off in movies, at events and living their daily lives. To be considered for inclusion please contact senior editor, Deirdre Carroll.

Some of the most interesting shows and movies often include characters that aren’t always 100 percent human. In our latest edition of Bold Face we feature three actors who have played homosapian adjacent…

Karl Urban stars as John Kennex on Fox’s new science fiction/crime drama Almost Human. The series is set 35 years in the future when police officers are paired up with highly evolved, lifelike androids. Kennex is a detective who survived one of the most catastrophic attacks ever made against the police department. The show will follow his week-to-week missions as he fights crime across a futuristic landscape as well as his struggle to work alongside his android partner, played by Michael Ealy. Almost Human premieres with a special preview on Sunday, Nov. 17, before moving to its regular time slot at 8pm on Monday, Nov. 18. Back in the present day, Urban wears the Salvatore Ferragamo SF107S sun style from Marchon

Robert Downey Jr., as Tony Stark, wears the Matsuda M2002 from PM International in the third installment of the Iron Man franchise, Iron Man 3, which premiered in May and hit DVD in September. Stark suffers a severe chest injury during a kidnapping in which his captors attempt to force him to build a weapon of mass destruction. He instead creates a power source embedded in his chest that keeps him alive and powers the suit of armor he uses to escape captivity and later to protect the world as Iron Man. Iron Man is part of the Marvel universe of Avengers characters and movies, the most recent of which, Thor: The Dark World, is currently in theaters. Downey will reprise his role as Tony Stark/Iron man in 2015’s Marvel's The Avengers: Age of Ultron

Straight out of the pages of the Alien franchise playbook, Michael Fassbender played David, an eighth generation android, in 2012’s Prometheus. Able to understand human emotions but not feel them, David has the capability of doing tasks humans might find "unethical" easier. Fassbender will reprise the role in Prometheus 2, which was just given the green light. Filming hasn’t yet been announced but considering Fassbender’s career is on fire right now, Bold Face is sure producers will find a way to work around his schedule to get the android in the film. Currently, Fassbender is starring in 12 Years a Slave, in theaters now, where his character is inhuman in a totally different way. Fassbender recently wore the Tom Ford Lennon (FT288) sunglasses from Marcolin at the Toronto Film Festival to
premiere the film.
