LAS VEGAS—The Opticians Association of America Leadership Conference hosted nearly 200 attendees at the Monte Carlo Resort & Casino, Feb. 5 to 7, 2015.

The event provided eyecare professionals throughout North America with the opportunity for direct contact with industry leaders. The conference offered unique educational seminars and topic-specific breakout sessions that addressed subjects that included growing membership numbers and legislative affairs to communication synergy and leadership skills.

Networking events provided interactive social functions designed to help create a strong grassroots network within the industry. Blue T-shirts that said, “What is an optician—helping America see” were distributed to be worn on the last day of the conference.

The Opticians Association of Massachusetts delegation included board members as well as students of the Ben Franklin Institute of Technology in Boston.
New Hampshire optician, Denyse Gauthier, was named OAA’s State Leader of the Year.
Blaire Wong and Dibby Bartlett produced this new logo for the OAA to get the word out about the importance of opticianry.
