Jim Greenwood
KINGWOOD, Texas—Texas-based national optometric alliance, Vision Source announced that Jim Greenwood will assume the position of president and chief operating officer.

Greenwood joins the executive team after serving as CEO of Concentra for more than five years. He will report to Vision Source CEO and founder Glenn Ellisor, OD.

A Baylor University graduate, Greenwood’s career in health care started in 1993 when he joined Concentra’s predecessor company as chief financial officer. Greenwood helped lead Concentra through a time of significant growth and innovative transformation for its national medical practice that now includes over 1,500 affiliated primary care physicians and physical therapists, the announcement said. Greenwood serves on the board of directors for Epic Health Services, Inc. and the Baylor University Healthcare Administration Program’s Advisory Council.

Vision Source’s announcement comes at the close of the most successful year in the 22+ year history of the alliance. Vision Source added its 2,800th office and 5,300th member along with more than 1,200 practices adopting the Vision Source name and brand through a collective, new signage and marketing initiative.

“The overwhelming success and growth of Vision Source, especially with the vast growth in 2012, has given us the opportunity to expand our team with some of the health care industry’s top talent,” said Ellisor. “We are honored to have Jim on board in this leadership role, and we look forward to leveraging his extensive health care experience in a multi-site delivery model to help us further enhance the value we create for our members.”

In related news, Vision Source, the optometric alliance based here, has announced the retirement of Tracy Moody, effective Dec. 31. Moody has held various positions within the organization since 2000, including, most recently, the position of president and chief growth officer.

“Tracy is well respected within the eyecare industry and has played a large role in preserving independent optometry,” said Vision Source CEO and co-founder, Glenn Ellisor, OD. “Tracy has been a key part of the executive team at Vision Source since he joined 12 years ago, and although his leadership and tenacity will be missed, we wish him the very best through his new journey into retirement,” he added. “Tracy has been a great colleague and friend to many of us, and we are all very happy for him and his decision to spend more time with his family.”

Prior to his employment at Vision Source, Moody was the director of professional relations at Alcon Laboratories. He joined Vision Source as the VP of growth and development in 2000 and became the senior VP of growth and development before taking on the role of COO then president and chief growth officer. Moody will continue to have a significant ownership stake and connection to the organization.
