ATLANTA—The Prima Eye Group network of independent dispensing optometrists has named Lauren Styron, MBA, as its new human resources and staff management consultant. She will advise Prima members about recruiting, hiring, staff salaries, benefits, performance reviews and general management issues. In addition, she will assist members with questions on office policies and with the creation and maintenance of employee handbooks.

“In all my consulting experience with optometrists, staff management issues rank as the number one challenge we face as practice owners,” said Neil Gailmard, OD, MBA, FAAO, co-founder and president of Prima Eye Group. “That’s why we are so pleased to add a specialist in human resource management to our growing group of consultants at Prima. Prima members can now obtain direct, one-on-one advice on staffing issues from an expert in that field.”

Prior to joining Prima, Styron worked in benefits and compensation analysis at The Coca-Cola Company and Unisource Worldwide, Inc. She also worked as a compensation consultant and human resources generalist, serving more than 300 employees at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. She earned her B.S. in Management at the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA with a concentration in Human Resources from Georgia State University.
