CHICAGO— Zyloware Eyewear chairman, Bob Shyer, and vice chairman, Henry Shyer, have been chosen as the 2014 recipients of the PBA Persons of Vision Award by Prevent Blindness America (PBA). The award will be presented at the PBA Person of Vision Dinner on the eve of Vision Expo East on March 27, 2014 at the New York Palace in New York, N.Y. The PBA Person of Vision Award recognizes an individual or corporation for outstanding leadership and dedication in the field of vision and eye health. According to PBA, Bob and Henry Shyer have been chosen as 2014 recipients due to their continuation of Zylowear Eyewear, the oldest independent family owned frame supplier in the U.S., and for their contributions to the vision industry. Event planning will be led by the PBA Person of Vision Committee, consisting of co-chairpersons Chris Shyer, Zyloware president and Jamie Shyer, chief operating officer. Dave Pierson, chief executive officer of Refac, will serve as honorary co-chairperson. Current sponsors for the event include Refac and National Vision Inc. Tickets for the 2014 Person of Vision Award event may be purchased on an individual basis for $350 or for a table of 10 for $3,500. All proceeds will support PBA programs.
