Latest News Vision Council Partners With AARP for Ad Campaign Running Remainder of 2014 By Staff Monday, October 6, 2014 12:24 AM ALEXANDRIA, Va.—The Vision Council announced it is partnering with AARP for an advertising campaign that will run on the AARP website, AARP.org, for the reminder of the year. The campaign will feature different eye health and age related themes, targeting the active, affluent, 50-and-older audience, primarily on the AARP.org health channel, one of AARP.org’s most visited website sections. For the month of October, ad themes will include “General Eye Health: ‘Set your sights on healthy vision,’” promoting The Vision Council membership and taking audiences to thevsioncouncil.org; “Low Vision,” which will direct consumers to www.WhatIsLowVision.org to educate aging adults and their caregivers on eye disease, symptoms and low vision solutions; and “Eycessorize Fashion: ‘Find the frames to fit your face’” which will promote the fashion side of eyewear and link to Eyecessorize.com. Future themes will include messaging for over-the-counter reading glasses, lenses and UV protective eyewear, The Vision Council said. According to the announcement, AARP.org serves as a digital gateway to the Boomer audience, averaging 6 million to 8 million visitors per month. Through the program, The Vision Council will be able to reach and engage this demographic, bring viewership to The Vision Council’s newly redesigned website and continue efforts to bring attention to eyewear options for people of all ages.
