AALEN, Germany and SAN DIEGO, Calif.—Ulrich Krauss, the chief sales officer for Carl Zeiss Vision and a member of the company’s management board, has relocated to the company’s U.S. headquarters in San Diego. He will work with Joseph Donahoe, president-North America, and Zeiss’s U.S. leadership team in implementing key market initiatives and supporting U.S. linkage to Zeiss’s global organization, according to Zeiss.

“The United States is our largest and most important market,” said Krauss. “We continue to see attractive business opportunities in the U.S. market and we have laid the groundwork for ambitious growth plans by further modernizing our production capabilities, taking full advantage of the Zeiss brand, and by continuously introducing innovations to the market.”

Donahoe remarked, “The power of the Zeiss brand, our distribution network, our global and local manufacturing are working to our advantage in a challenging market environment. With Ulrich Krauss in his new role, we gain a tighter linkage with global Zeiss resources and support. This means we can deliver an even better customer experience.”

Krauss joined Zeiss in 1993 and has held numerous management positions in the field of Zeiss Medical Systems in the U.S. and Germany. He was appointed to the management board of Carl Zeiss Meditec in 2002 and played a key role in the expansion of the company’s global presence and in its successful international growth. Since 2011 he has been working at Carl Zeiss Vision International as a member of the board and chief sales officer.
