LINZ, Austria—Silhouette International reports that it plans to end its license for Adidas Sport Eyewear from the German sports company by the end of this year and that the company intends to develop its own premium sports eyewear brand. With more than 55 years of experience in the premium eyewear business, and 25 in the sport eyewear category, Silhouette International says it will extend its corporate strategy to develop its own collection, noting that its Austrian-made products "have been the go-to eyewear for Olympic gold medalists, world champions and World Cup winners."

Silhouette said it will design and make high-performance sports eyewear at its headquarters facility here. The company said that the new sports eyewear collection will be available in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Slovenia, Spain and select retailers in the European Alps region in fall 2019, and would be introduced in the year 2020 for the U.S. market, a Silhouette spokesperson told VMAIL.
