The company’s PrimeStar Individual Vision Insurance is now available in Arizona, Kansas, Ohio and New Jersey. “We expect the 11 remaining states to have plans available within the next three to six months,” a Security Life spokesperson told VMail. PrimeStar Individual Vision Insurance includes two plan options. The PrimeStar Choice Vision Plan uses the VSP Vision Care network of 31,000 providers in private practice. The PrimeStar Choice Vision plan is open to VSP network providers who participate in the Choice network, a VSP spokesperson told VMail. The PrimeStar Select Vision plan uses the EyeMed Access network, which consists of more than 78,000 providers, both independent (66 percent) and retail (34 percent), an EyeMed spokesperson told VMail. Plan benefits include immediate coverage of eye exams, lenses and frames, discounted LASIK and additional savings for choosing an in-network provider. “Vision insurance is one of the most utilized consumer benefits,” said Mark Zesbaugh, CEO of Security Life. “There is a strong market demand for stand-alone individual vision insurance, and we are proud to respond to that need with the launch of PrimeStar Vision in five additional states. With competitive benefits and partnerships with two of the most renowned vision networks, VSP and EyeMed, we are confident our customers will embrace these plans with continued excitement and positivity.”
