CHICAGO— Prevent Blindness America (PBA) is asking eyecare practitioners, advocates and policymakers to “save the date” for the third annual Focus on Eye Health National Summit, scheduled to take place on June 18, 2014 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

The 2014 Summit will address the multiple conditions that co-exist with vision problems via a variety of presentations focusing on public health issues such as diabetes, falls, smoking and depression, all of which have an impact on eye health in the U.S. A new PBA report forecasting future prevalence and costs of vision problems will also be presented to an expected audience of patient advocates, community-based organizations, national vision and eye health organizations, government agencies and policymakers, PBA said.

Registration for the 2014 Focus on Eye Health National Summit will open on Feb. 1, 2014. For sponsorship opportunities, contact Nita Patel at npatel@preventblindness.org. For event updates or to sign up for alerts about the Summit, visit eyesummit.preventblindness.org.
