ATLANTA—As the new president of the Southern Council of Optometrists, Stan Dickerson, OD, plans to maintain SECO’s prominence as a leader in providing optometric education, he told Vision Monday in his First Person article here. The organization’s launch of SECO University is one way the not-for-profit membership association comprised of 12 southeastern states intends to extend the reach it has already achieved with the 92-year-old annual SECO conference that regularly attracts more than 7,500 national and international eyecare professionals, vendors and allied ophthalmic personnel.
