LAS VEGAS— Registration is now open for the 2015 Specialty Health Summit to be held at The Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas, May 4 to May 6, 2015, and the sponsoring organizations are seeking nominees for the sixth annual Most Influential in Specialty Health Award to be presented at the event. This is the fourth annual Specialty Health Summit sponsored jointly by the National Association of Vision Care Plans and the National Association of Specialty Health Organizations devoted to the specialty health field.

The Most Influential in Specialty Health Award recognizes leaders in specialty health who have played a major role in advancing the industry’s mission to improve the value, access and availability of high-quality specialty health services. The award is open to leaders in all specialty health fields—vision, dental, hearing, pharmacy benefit management, behavioral health, chiropractic, complementary care, physical therapy, radiology management and other ancillary services.

Nominees should be executives from specialty health plans or provider networks that facilitate and support the delivery of specialty health services. The award recognizes individuals whose drive, passion and efforts have benefited not only their professional and company interests but also the specialty health industry as a whole.

The nomination period is open now through Feb. 27, 2015, and the winner will be honored at the chairmen’s dinner to be held during the Specialty Health Summit on Monday, May 4, 2015.

The Summit features three days of education, entertainment and networking opportunities for those in or related to the fields of specialty health. Among the highlights will be both organizations’ board of directors meetings and reception, a hearing/vision roundtable, the chairman’s dinner and entertainment, and a keynote address on “The Politics of Healthcare” by ABC News special correspondent, Matthew Dowd, all of which will be sponsored by VSP Vision Care.

Tuesday evening’s NAVCP vision industry dinner, sponsored by Zeiss Vision, will be followed by a day’s worth of vision-related seminars and an Essilor-sponsored luncheon at noon on Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Vision-related breakout sessions will cover: “A U.S. Market Overview and Trend Perspective,” “Medical Plan Seeks Vision Care Coverage—Matchmaking in Today’s Health Marketplace,” “Taking Initiative—Kaiser Permanente’s Foray into Telehealth and Evidence-Based Medicine,” and “Specs Appeal—A Look at the Latest Lens Technology.”
