NORWALK, Conn.—Citing the continued rapid growth and ongoing support of its member base, IDOC, today, is announcing a series of leadership promotions and a recent new addition to its executive team.

Mark Feder, OD, founder of IDOC, has been named chairman, and will remain active in the daily operations and strategic direction of IDOC. Feder will also continue in his role on the IDOC board of directors.

Dave Brown has been promoted to president and CEO, reporting to Dr. Feder. Brown joined IDOC in February 2014, and has been instrumental in the alliance’s expansion efforts, a company statement said. He also led the team in developing and launching IDOC Select, a new membership option offering a path to growth for member practices that relies on performance metrics and consulting to increase profits.

Finally, IDOC welcomed Oliver Spandow as chief financial officer CFO in December 2014, reporting to Dave Brown. Spandow joins IDOC with 15 years of healthcare industry experience, 11 in the optical industry experience most recently as general manager of the United Kingdom for Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc.

According to Feder, the new executive team is perfectly poised to lead IDOC into the future. “Our goal is to bring our members the programs and education they need to be successful, and I feel very confident that the combined industry experience of this group will do just that. It is all in keeping with our goal, which is to ensure the long term success of independent optometry.”

On the topic of IDOC’s growth, Feder also told VMail, “We have about 20 people in our HQ location now. And we intend to further expand member services. We expect to grow the number of our current 48 member territory directors to 70 by the end of the year. Those territory directors lead peer-to-peer meetings every quarter.” Feder estimated that IDOC’s current membership exceeds 2,000.
